I saw my ENT surgeon again today and we talked in depth about the post surgery look and function of my nose. I’m so excited about it, I wanted to share. Of course feel free to skip this if you don’t like hospital talk. I promise I won’t be getting into icky details lol.
So, the first part of the surgery will be a septoplasty, straightening my septum and smoothing any other bits obstructing my breathing. After that she’ll reshape the nose. Taking off the major bump I have, narrowing my bridge, and refining the tip to match. We talked a lot about keeping my bridge straight, not scooped out and not turning up the tip too much.
She gave me a print out of what she has in mind for the rhinoplasty. I kind of hate to share my big ole nose and pudgy chin in their FULL glory, these pics are not forgiving lol, but I’m so excited about the change that I’m going to anyway. Something I haven’t talked about yet on the blog is that I plan to have under my chin done at the same time as my nose surgery. I didn’t mention it before because it kind of makes me feel like crazy plastic surgery lady having two procedures lol. But I think these pics really illustrate why I want it done. You can see in the first pic, I have a pad of fat under my chin that pulls my profile down. Since I only weigh 115lbs, no amount of weight lose is going to budge it! So I figured now is the time to do it all. It’s a very minor procedure compared with the nose and I think it makes a huge difference bringing everything together.
So here is my current profile on the left and the new look we’re going for on the right.
I made my surgery appt today. It will be April 21st, eek!
I am always shocked when my Target actually has one of the designer lines. They didn’t have Jean Paul Gaultier earlier this week. So I almost didn’t even stop today to see if they had Liberty of London. But I was in town, so I gave it a go. I got a little rush when I walked in and saw they where just finishing up laying everything out!
I felt a bit of a LOL frenzy in the air at Target, which is surprising for my small town. There was not swarms of people around the racks but the ladies that were there obviously had a plan and were not to be messed with lol. The smallest sizes of clothing were disappearing fast and the housewares and decor were growing thin as well.
On with the pics!
Ruffle halter dress
I took the XS in the ruffle halter dress. The fit is pretty good. I was expecting it to run big but I this is definitely wearable. The dress has just the right amount of ruffle across the top. I’m very glad they did not triple of the ruffle like they did on the top. The print is just adorable. Bright and clear. The waist cinches with a string tie but I think it needs a proper belt. I couldn’t resist taking this home. Hopefully I can work it with a belt and cardigan
DaniBP’s upcoming trip to Paris has me nostalgic for my own vacation last year. I thought it would be fun to revisit some of my favorite photos of the city.
As I went through my old pics today my favorites list got longer and longer, this post will be a mutli-parter lol. You really can’t take a bad picture of Paris. Everywhere you look is something amazing. Being in Paris is like living in a postcard.
My first picture show post is devoted to the Eiffel tower. I love how the tower follows you through the city, reminding you where you are. After a few day you start to feel a bit at home in Paris. Maybe even take it for granted. You will be walking around the city shopping or looking for something to eat, when you turn the corner and there is the Eiffel tower. In the distance, poking up through the stony apartments into the expansive Parisian sky and you think- oh yes, I am in Paris.
There are a few new arrives on the J.Crew site this morning. It’s always a happy day when I get that email! But to be honest, it’s getting harder and harder for me to pick out what the new items are. I look at the site and it’s just a blur of grey, pale pinky beige, white, and the occasional coral.
There are a couple of items that stood out from the rest though. Here’s my picks..
Let’s talk about Boden. I’ve never purchased from the brand but I do receive their catalog. I think their kid’s clothes are very cute. I love the colors and applique. The women’s wear has also caught my eye. Several times I have logged onto the site after looking through the catalog to get a closer look at some pieces. Each time though, something about the style just seems a little off and not me. I think they use too many primary colors. The prints seems too large and not unique. The extra large buttons and bold piping bug me. I feel like they are so close to being an awesome brand but they are a little too traditional and not forward thinking enough.
I’m also very concerned about the sizing; since the smallest size they offer is a 2.
Here are a couple of pieces I am almost completely in love with.
I’m totally behind on my Anthro reviews again, so time for a mega post! Since there are so many, I’m going to include only a brief description of each. Take a peek and let me know which is your favorite!
Yesterday’s mystery box did indeed include the Two Paths trench! Apparently Dh ordered it the day after I tried it on at Anthro. He said I needed it. Love that man!
I snapped a couple quick pic of the coat. Pardon the complete lack of hair and make up. Dd is home sick today and I am catching her horrible cough fast, so I couldn’t be bothered with much upkeep. This is what happens when I need a hair cut, nerdy pin back bangs lol.
Happy Tuesday ladies! Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA and slow on the blog posts. I feel like I’ve had a 1000 appts the last few days! On the nose front lol, I found a great ENT and a cosmetic ENT. They were able to finally give me some answers about my breathing issues and pain. Turns out I am allergic to the planet lol but especially to dust mites. An almost off the chart allergy. Of course dust is everywhere, year round. So now I know why I always feel like garbage. Then when you add on the mold, grass, and tree spring/summer allergies oh I am real sniffing, sneezing, pocket tissue granny joy! The second ENT Doc I saw yesterday was able to confirm I have a deviated septum and other issues. So I may actually be able to have my insurance cover most of the surgery. Cross your fingers!! I am so excited about that possibility and also just to know what is actually wrong with me. That I’m not crazy and it is beyond the, oh the pollen came out and I need a benadryl.
ANYWAY! Sorry to ramble about not so interesting stuff lol. In shopping news, I ordered the Gainsborough skirt this morning!! What a surprise to see it marked down so soon. I hope I love it as much as I remember! I also got the Climbing cowlneck tee in navy to go with it. I haven’t tired the cowlneck before but I sized up hoping for a relaxed fit since the skirt is very fitted. Has anyone tried this tee on? Was it sheer? I hope not!
