J.Crew’s Cambridge cable sweater fits true to size. It has a relaxed but not baggy fit. The knit is soft and comfortable, not itchy. The cable sweater seems to fit a little shorter on me than on the model. It hits in between the waist and the hip and scrunches itself up closer to my waist while wearing. I really like the length but on someone very slim and tall (or with a long torso) the smaller sizes might feel a little short in the waist. The V-neck on this sweater is perfect for me, flattering but not too low. I do tend to wear a tank or button up shirt underneath though, just for added warmth. For my climate, this sweater is definitely best suited for Fall. Although, a cute thermal may make it winter wearable.
My favorite thing about this sweater is the gorgeous colors available. I purchased Carrot and Aqua. Both colors are beautiful. Saturated and fun without being too bright.

Hi, Glad to hear it is not an itchy sweater……I was wondering about that!
I too LOVE the colors offered in the Cambridge sweaters this year, especially the aqua. However, they seem thinner than last year’s. Maybe I’m confusing them with last year’s Dream sweaters. I’ll pass until they’re $40 or less.
BTW, you write great reviews!
Thank you!
I don’t have last years cable to compare but I too wish they were a little thicker. Maybe Jcrew will offer their heavier weight sweaters with the next roll out
I have true aqua cashmere cardi from last year and I love the color! Great choice:)
JMHO–I think the quality on these sweaters is low. I have a chocolate V-neck from two years ago and there are holes in the elbows and pilling beyond belief. I usually keep my sweaters indefinitely but this one is getting thrown away next time I clean out my cedar chest. (sorry about the negative.)
Thank for posting Hex! I will keep a close eye on mine and hang onto the receipt
It’s OK about negative comments….I like to hear about everyone’s experience with a garment:) Thanks, Hexicon.
