I visited my store this weekend and have a few quick reviews to share with you.
Juliet patent-leather midheels-The Juliet heels are true to size. They have a comfortable and sturdy low heel. The fit felt good every where except for the top opening around the toes. The patent is a little stiff here and was a slightly snugger than I like on the top of my foot. These heels have more toe cleavage than I was expecting. I tried on the Peacock color which is very pretty and unique.
Serengeti Flats- The Serengetti Flats are true to size but a little less snug in my size 7 than other J.Crew flats are running. They felt comfortable for the few minutes I had them on but I’m not sure if they would start to rub around the toes with extended wear.
City metallic ballet flats-The City flats in platinum gold are true to size and were the most comfortable of the 3 pairs of shoes I tried on.
Merino Lea cardigan-The Lea cardigan is true to size. It is snug in the arms and relaxed in the waist. The cardi was not cropped on me as it is on the model. I’m 5’4″ and the Lea hit at the waist. Like many of the other cardigan this season the Merino wool is not a winter weight. It is not as thin as the feather weight ruffle cardigan though. The buttons on the Lea are gorgeous and unlike the City cardigan you won’t be stuck in the dressing room until closing try to get the buttons undone. I tried the Lea on in Dark Peony, which is beautiful. The shade is depicted pretty well online. I would say it is just a little bit deeper and less pink in real life.
Perfect-fit flower tank- I tried on the Lea cardigan over the Perfect fit flower tank. By pulling the tank over a little to center and the cardigan open, you could get the flowers to show. I think a bit of Fashion tape could be used to keep the cardigan from slipping over the flowers. The tank runs true to size. I took an extra small, as I do in the Favorite tanks. The material is a little more stretchy in the Perfect fit, hopefully it does not lose it’s shape with wear. The flowers on this tank are quite pretty. I will probably end up buying this tank in the Bright Poppy.
Cashmere turtleneck sweater- The Cashmere turtlenecks are listed as online only but my store had a few. I tried on the Dark Poppy which is a beautiful true red. The sweater fits true to size and has a flattering non-boxy cut. It is not snug in the waist but it drapes nicely. The turtle neck is soft and comfortable around the neck. This sweater is a little longer in the waist than the Merino turtlenecks, hitting at the hip. The only thing that kept me from bringing this home immediately was that it is a little sheer in the chest. This can be easily solved with a tank or cami underneath but I think a sweater drapes so much nicer without that extra layer. I may wait for a sale on this one.. Although, don’t be surprised if I cave lol, I just love the Poppy color.
Victoria ruffle shirt-I tried on the Victoria blouse in black. I will say it runs true to size to a little big. I tried on the 0 but I would need a petite0. It was a little too loose in the waist and slightly long on me. This shirt is beautiful and unique but it is not for me. The ruffles on the Victoria are a little too big for my frame. I felt they overwhelmed me. Also the ruffles are a bit stiff and too architectural for my taste.

Great reviews. I’ve been debating getting the Juliet heels for a while now — wish they would finally go on sale!
My store had the yellow and peacock marked down to, I think, $169 with an extra 30% off. I’m not sure if the other colors were on sale as well. It was the Bellevue Square store if you want to call.
Someone told me on another blog that the perfect fit tanks do run a bit big and to size down…the store manager also said the same thing….
Depends on what you are comparing them to I think. They definitely run bigger than the perfect fit tees! In the perfect tees I am a small or even medium vs xs in the tank. It’s frustrating that items have the same name but are sized differently.
Thanks for your thoughts on the sizing!
I tried on the Merino Lea Cardigan in Dark Poppy the other day as I’ve been eyeing it online. I agree with everything you said in regards to fit. I’m glad it’s not as cropped as it appears. The color is beautiful, I really like the shade and the buttons are great too. I will definitely be picking this up. Not sure if I can til it goes on sale
I love the Lea cardigan and purchased it in the avocado color. I completely agree with your sizing description. I’m also 5’4″ and agree that it is not cropped, but a perfect fit. I will definitely be purchasing more of these when they go on sale. And, I love the dark peony color – I WILL be buying something in this color soon!
I am crossing my fingers that we will see a Lea promo soon
I was comparing them to the favorite fit tanks…in those I wear a medium over the years I own now about 15 and in the perfect fit tanks I wear a small…
Are you finding that the perfect fit stretch out with wear?
Good reviews. Ever thought of expanding into menswear?
Thanks Jeff. I wouldn’t mind adding Men’s reviews but dh isn’t into being my genuie pig lol. So, I wouldn’t have much info to offer on fit. If you ever want to guest blog on Menswear sizing, lmk
Will do.
Shannon, I’m crossing my fingers too!
Yes, with wear it seemed to stretch and the perfect fit on me do not…
Anon-You mean the perfect fit tanks stretch out and the favorite fit do not, or opposite?
The first one:) PPTanks do stretch….and I am not big busted….36A
Since I can’t size down, I will probably pass on them then. Thanks for the info
Shannon, I had wanted the Victoria ruffle shirt as soon as it came out. I have to agree with you on the fitting — loose in the waist and ruffles too stiff and high. I normally wear a 2, but had to go for the 0. However, in a 0, the sleeves were a tad too short.
I also tried the cami but wasn’t comfortable with it. I found the shoulders too exposed and the fabric too thin. I would need to fiddle with my bra to make it work, or buy a different style bra and wear a cami underneath (for warmth and coverage depending on the color). Too much work.
I’m petite and always seem to have problems with some clothes fitting me, especially long-sleeved stuff. In addition to J.Crew, JCPenney’s
women’s sweaters usually fit me quite well.
