I purchased the Ringspun Licorice tee in Bright Tulip last week. It is not as pink as it appears online, it is more of an orange-pink- coral. The shade in fact, is nearly a perfect match for the henley and ruffle cardigan I have in Sweet Papaya.
The Licorice graphic is distressed and printed in white and a darker shade of pinkish red. I wore this top layered with the long sleeve Rhubarb tissue tee which is a great match for this darker pink shade. The graphic is surrounded by tiny pale gold sequins. The sequins give the tee some sparkle without being gaudy.
The Licorice tee fits the same as previous ringspun tees. I size up to a small, so the tee is not skin tight. For me, the small is fitted in the chest and arms, relaxed in the waist. The tee hits at the low hip. The material is not see through in this shade.
Although I was hoping the Licorice tee would be more pink, I am still pleased with it. I actually have more in my closet that coordinates with it as the Sweet papaya shade it is.

I have this tee and I love it, I also purchased the Dark Slate Decandent Mint tee, and I love this one more, it looks great with grey cashmere, and is more versatile.
I have the champagne (with the orange embellishment). I love it with my deep persimmon tartine cardigan. I think the Dark Slate is next on my list.
I saw this t IRL, really cute.
I love the Dark slate too. I was debating between that and the tulip.
Kate is the champagne sheer at all?
The champagne is not sheer, it is the same material as the rose tee & beaded C'Est La Vie tee. I find these much thicker/much less sheer than the "Party Etiquette", Soap One – those were really sheer IMO.
I saw the tulip colored licorice tee in store (I have it on order right now) and now I am not so sure about the color after seeing IRL..was hoping more pink than coral/salmon. I do know that anytime the T-shirts have the sequins or beading (think map tee) the fabric is still ringspun but slightly less stretchy and also thicker. This is so it doesn’t pull where sequins/beads would pop off easily and even cause small tears in the fabric.
I have one beaded ringspun from this past summer that is like pantyhose thin and is frightening in the snag and pulls arena so I think they changed the quality of the newer tees to be more substantial. One area that quality improved;)
Thanks for the review on this one. I now know it is a pass for me b/c I want pink so this was very helpful:) Will take it off my “when it goes on sale list.”
These are really cute, and I am a candy freak, so I really want one (or two…). However, $50 is too much for a tee! I’ll wait ’til they’re $30 or less (and we all know they will be soon).
Thanks for the review. I just saw the licorice tee in the pink and was suprised at how salmon/ coral it is. I was hoping for more pink. I also didn’t relize that it had sequins when I saaw it online. It’s cute but i think I wll pass unless it goes on mega sale.
just found this tee at my local jcrew store! thanks for the review! love the tee!
they are now $30 + 30% off in store! just got mine yesterday (pink licorice)
