I’m putting together my Spring wishlist. So far it consist of: pink and khaki, pink and spearmint, pink and grey. I am basically obsessed with J.Crew’s new Jasmine shade. It is so pretty and flattering. Makes me happy to be a girl.
So far, I only have one piece in my beloved color. The Ringspun scoopneck tee. In the ringspun, Jasmine is a true saturated pink. It is not another coral pretending to be pink, hooray! I hope the color reads the same in Merino.
While I am on the subject, I should let you know. The Ringspun scoopneck tee fits true to size. I sized up to a small like I do with the ringspun graphic tees but I probably could have gone with my regular xs. The scoopneck tee is fitted in the chest and shoulders like the graphic tees but it is cut a little straighter through the waist. So, it is not as body hugging as the candy tees, for example.
I am crossing my finger that we will see more Jasmine in the next roll out. I was told by my store we can expect more Spring items in stores Jan 23rd.
Dear Old Man Winter, Beat it. You bore me.
Bring on the Pink!

I just wanted to thank you for your blog! I just ordered the pink ringspun t-shirt along with the merino cardigan in champagne you pictured below. I also ordered the merino cardigan in navy. I now have three, yes three packages from J.Crew on the way to me. I also ordered a felt flower/broach from Etsy – if you’re willing to look at the site, (and not too crafty yourself) they have lots of pretty flowers — and most for under $20.
Good Morning Shannon! I am also SO happy to see all the new pink, green, and neutral shades being offered!
So…more new items at the end of this month? YAY!!!!!
I am looking forward to Springa as well. Thankfully I am stocked up on pink from prev.J crew seasons, so can’t wait to start wearing everything.
Suburban mom- I love etsy! Thanks for the reminder. I definitely need to order some flowers and jewelry for spring!
FFM-That’s what a hear, hopefully lots of new goodies!
Shannon: Have you purchased the short sleeved cardigan yet? I am just wondering if it is similar to the V-Neck Henley one in weight.
I think the Jan 23 will be a pretty big rollout can’t wait to see it.
Shannon–this is my new FAVORITE tee and I am so in love with Jasmine color as well! Don’t cha just love bein’ a girl?!
This tee has a great fit-I needed small in this like other graphics including candy tess mostly due to large bust but this is like it was “made to measure” for me! I ended up getting almost all colors as I got them for $8 or less during TURKEY screw up. Sometimes good things come out of the trials and tribulations of ordering JCrew:)
Oh and I am having hard time swallowing a $228 cami as pictured in your polyvore–what are they thinking?!
They really will change their clientele if they come out with items of this price point and less quantities as they won’t have any to go to “on sale” and many of us will not pay this kind of money. That would be sad…hope it doesn’t happen.
Casual-crew- I haven’t tried on the s/s sweater yet. I was going to wait and see it they make a long-sleeve version in Jasmine because my arms are always cold.
Bugpin-Did you get the brown as well? I think it is in store only. It’s like a washed out caramel. I’m wearing it today with my poppy dream tie
Re: the $228 cami, I know! It boggles the mind. It’s very pretty but I won’t buy it unless it gets marked way down
I LOVE this new color palette! However, I agree about the $228 cami. Also, I noticed in the photos of it on the website, it has a huge bow on the back. I wonder if that means you can’t really wear anything over it without looking like a hunchback (not that you’d want to cover up a $228 top anyway…).
Hi Shannon, I simply love the color pink as well as colors that veer into the orange tones such as coral and salmon. Anyway, i snapped up the painter scoop-necked tee as soon as i saw along with two other colors.
I agree that this particular shade of pink is pretty and feminine without being whimpy and undecided. Funny thing is i found it by searching for items in pink and going through the list.
I do hope J.Crew offers more in this color this season.
Shannon: is the scoop low on the ringspun top? I purchased the Soft rib short-sleeve scoopneck tee, item 10609, & it scoops low enough I'll have to wear a cami underneath. Thanks if you have time to answer.
Oh I meant to mention that! No it does not scoop too low, no cami needed. I don’t have the soft rib but I have a perfect fit scoop and that is much lower than the ringspun. If you scroll down to the Merino Portland review, I am wearing the ringspun scoop there
Thanks for pointing out the top for me. Oh that looks great! Not too low at all. Thanks!
I love this jasmine color. I was so disappointed that my b&m didn't have anything there in this color.
I would love to order the scoop neck tee, but I have no idea what size to get. I normally wear a large in their tees b/c of my broad shoulders and chest, and even then I get pulling across the chest (which I don't like). I tried on a candy tee and had to size up to an XL in order and I KNOW I'm not an XL! What do women who normally wear that size do? Obviously, they didn't buy a candy tee or else they were it very tight.
Anyway, I want something in this color, just haven't decided what. I also LOVE the quartz chinos and can't wait to buy them and wear them – it's also a pretty pink.
My goodness, I wrote a book, didn't I?
In my usual size, have chest pulling with the ringspun too (hate that!). I think your usual large would be fine for the scoopnecks. They are not cut as tight as the candy tees
Thanks, Shannon. If I place an order, I’ll add a large to it.
I just love that shade of pink!
Just ordered this shirt in same color – can’t wait to get it! I also ordered the chino Clair pant in khaki to wear w/ the shirt and the Tailored Wool Carrie dress which popped up again.
I ordered the same pants last night
To go with them, I got the jasmine waffle henley, camp shirt in shell, and chunky knit cardi in champagne
It is so wonderful to see others are just as crazy about Jcrew as me. What a great site to share ideas, especially with pairing and mixing colors.
Has anyone seen the double serge deep persimmon pencil skirt and does it fit true to size?
I was wondering what color it is and what color tops would go good with it.
Thanks,
Also, does anyone have a pair of the trixie grey and white polka dot shoes size 9 they would like to sell?
Or know where I can buy them.
Debbie
Hi Debbie,
I have the double serged skirt in Ochre and it was true to size. I would hope the same for the Persimmon. I don’t have a skirt in that color but I have a tissue tee and it is a deep reddened orange. For some outfits ideas, check out FFM’s blog HERE
As for the Trixie’s I haven’t seen them in my store. But if you are not already, keep checking the website for them. I saw various sizes pop up briefly last week. I almost bought a pair!
