So I’ve figured out the timer on my camera but I haven’t sorted out how to focus before I am in the frame. I’ll have to get a coat rack or something lol.
I’m too lazy to mess with it today, so here is my ootd, slightly out of focus.
Now on to my JC rant- I saw the 20% off private sale for JC this morning but I have to say I am completely blah about it. The clothes in my closet are a heck of a lot cuter than anything on J.crew’s website.. Seems like last summer had much more style to offer than were are seeing this year.
What do you think, is there anything worth a closer look right now?? My reviews have been seriously lacking lately just because I’m just not seeing anything worth reviewing. I hope the new arrivals have something unique to offer. I can’t deal with any more raggedy chiffon and plain baggy tee shirts.
** Updated-I just saw the new catalog pics on Gigi wonderful blog and what do you know, more of that damn chiffon. Too funny.

It's funny. A dress popped up on sale that I wanted to get (did you see Dina's blog this morning?) but I just wasn't inspired to order enough to get to the $175 and then return. I preferred just coughing up the obnoxios $8.50 for shipping.

I hate that you have to spend 175 to get the 20 off. 90% off the time I don’t even bother with this sale because it only ends up being a tiny bit more than shipping. Boo
And by the way, I just let me camera autofocus and then stand as flat against the wall as possible. I keep thinking a coat rack, like you suggested, or something smiliar would work well.
I completely agree with you about J. Crew lately. It seems so flat and uninspiring. Maybe that’s a good thing for my credit card. I placed an order back on May 1st and ended up returning half the items b/c they reminded me of other J. Crew items I already own. I’m getting bored of the chiffon trim and appliqué flowers. Gigi posted the new June catalog on her blog. You might check it out and see if there is something that peeks your interest.
Cute outfit, and those shoes. Love those shoes! I am winding down on my J. Crew purchases. During the recent EXTRA20 sale, I picked up a few pieces of jewelry (the dainty sparkle necklace, botanical necklace, and the sunshine bracelet) and the Editor Satchel handbag in Fresh Melon. I’m tired of chiffon and whisper thin fabrics. I checked out Gigi’s post of the June catalog…still feeling the blahs. Will be waiting for the fall rollout! I still love JC, but I am ready for new textures and styles.
I totally agree with you about the baggy tees and thin cashmere with chiffon *yawn*. And the grey and beige.

I love your outfit. Navy and orange are a great combo and the striped shirt underneath adds a nautical feel. Those distressed jeans in the dark wash are just fabulous. So so so so cute. Love it!
I did like a couple of things in the new catalog but sadly I will not be buying! Aurora t strap heels…at $278.00 no, oragami tank…over $100.00 no, and a cascade cashmere sweater at $188.00 a big no. Even at 50% off I still would be thinking about it for a long time!
I was just thinking the same thing yesterday! I picked up a catalog last night and it’s just SO blah. I think someone on the JCA blog compared it to silly putty. My eyes have not been stimulated by the neutral colors. I’m blonde and usually prefer pastels, but even I’m done with the neutrals and light colors. I miss last year’s j.crew with fun colors and a bit more relaxed for summer.

I saw the sale & was going to bite, but then there didn't seem to be anything new posted. I'm just going to wait & see if they come out with anything else – praying for another retro paisley print, or something with tie silk.
If they had lowered the amount to $100 for 20% off I would have bitten, but right now I'm just waiting for something better.

I am usually in jeans and a T, and have been wearing alot of the perfect fit tees in bright summery colors with belts from my own collection (www.perfectlypreppy.com) and fun jewelry. I’ve been wearing the “flower power” belts with everything this week and my old JC tees took on a new life
I am really into retro vintage pins lately and just can’t get enough to add to my collection. So if the old (or new) JC stuff just seems a little boring lately….throw on a piece of your own jewelry and you’ll be smiling 
I took a closer look last week and guess what I got? The same top you are wearing in the photo. It’s from Holiday 07 and I got it for a whopping $14.78, including shipping. Popback on the site. Where do they find these items from two years ago? I love it and I wish they’d make more tops like this again. It fits and feels perfect.

I’m very late in this past, Shannon…you asked about the Editor Satchel that I recently bought in Fresh Melon. Love it! The color is so lovely, and the leather is to die for. I think it will age nicely, and I know I will enjoy it for many years to come. It’s rather large, but I tend to carry a ton of stuff anyway. I doubt I will use the resin chain, however. Just not a fan of that chain.
