My husband and I have rather abruptly decided to take a trip to Europe this Fall. First we will be flying to Germany to visit friends and go to Oktoberfest. After that we will head to Paris. We’ll have about a week there with one day spent taking the train over to London for a quick visit.
We are very excited but also overwhelmed! I have to quickly make a list of all the can’t miss sites.
One place I will definitely visit is the Repetto boutique on Rue de la Paix.
Also known as.. shoe heaven

No fair! I dream of heading over that way and spending a good chunk of time there to really see the sights. Unfortunately, I'll have to keep dreaming for awhile longer. Europe isn't anywhere near the top of Husband's travel agenda. :/
I have nothing to offer except lots and lots and lots of jealousy.
So fab!
We are planning a trip to Paris in April. I will be looking forward to your tips when you return!
NY Times Mark Bittman did a review of affordable Paris bistro's. My hotel tip is Hotel D'Orsay, near the Musee, friends stayed there last year and loved it. Reasonable for Paris!
Can't wait to hear about the fashionz from you.
Is it frowned upon to set up a make-shift hotel inside the shoe store and never leave??? Hmm…cause that's where I'd like to be!
how wonderful! please take pics of the repetto store, lol!
I've been reading your blog for awhile but never commented (I love your jewelry!), however Paris is one of my favorite places in Europe and had to share my suggestions! I always stay at the Hotel d'Albion: http://www.hotelalbion.net/. It's about 10 minutes from the Louvre, 5 from the Champs, and a gorgeous 30 minute walk to the area around the Sorbonne and the Ile de la Cite. The owner is wonderful and the hotel is beautiful, chic, and very Parisian. You also must try the gelato at Amorino: http://www.amorino.fr/ – the presentation is a much of an art as the gelato itself!
Enjoy!
That shoe store look so amazing…I already see a couple pairs that I need!
How wonderful, Shannon! Repetto looks like a place I should avoid — I could easily go crazy there and lose all control over my credit cards. I've always wanted to experience Oktoberfest in Germany. I was in Berlin for Christmas two years ago, and that was a lot of fun, but Oktoberfest is the BIG DEAL in Germany. Enjoy!
Oh I'm so jealous! Ballet flat heaven!!!! I still don't have a pair of Repetto's and I need some!!!!!

Thanks for sharing my excitement ladies!
Julia & Dani- Thanks so much for the suggestions. I will definitely look these places up!
Oh goodness! Shoe heaven indeed. WOW! Can't wait to see pics. Your trip will be a blast. I'm excited for you.
so jealous! I just got back from Europe – I went to Paris, London, Barcelona and Dublin. I want to go back! I just found your blog and I love it! Love the j.crew reviews!
Have a lovely time on your trip!
Just curious, can you not buy repetto shoes in the U.S.? They are available in Canada, although not that popular where I live. Of course it is not the same as visiting the Paris store!
Repetto was the brand of my first pair of pointe shoes back when I was an aspiring ballerina. I didn't even realize they made other shoes until recently!! So cute
Wow! I didn't know that Repetto made anything other that pointe shoes!
Chanel Fashionista- Welcome to the blog!
Anon -They do have Repettos here but I am still excited to see them lined up all pretty in the Paris shop
Hehee I am getting so excited. I have to start planning my Paris ootds!
Shannon,
Confessing my perfect ballet slipper envy in all the colours of the rainbow here and now. Yes, true we can get Reps here in Canada but the selection and atmosphere, as well as the exchange rate for event the simplest flats do not compare. Sounds like you've Par-ee pretty well sussed, but if you want any jewelery/ gallery recos LMK. Ditto on London as hub is from there and at least 1 of us gets over for work or family at least a few times a year. Something of experts on whirlwind trips for friends on lay-over en route to other spots.
Hi Anne,
I would love some advice on London! We will only be visiting for the day, so I am not sure what would be best to see
Repetto??? ….drool….
make sure you save time and $$ for the simply unbelievable shoe collection at the department store Galeries Lafayette. Beyond anything you can imagine in terms of style and a wide variety of prices. Go there BEFORE Repetto.
Anon- Thanks for the tip! I googled the Galeries and it looks amazing!!
Just have to add one more comment about the Galeries Lafayette shoe department – I came back feeling like I should do missionary work about it. I DREAM about it! Literally acres of fanatastic shoes – brands we don't see in the US at all – and there's plenty of Repetto there.
Bon Voyage!
OMG I am so excited
Do they have other affordable brands or is it mostly designer?
