J.Crew’s Wool Herringbone bucket hat comes in two sizes Small-medium and Medium-large. I tried on the S/M in Butterscotch. I wish they offered an XS because I felt like the hat was too big for me. The fit around was fine but the brim sits so low I can barely see under it. My dh thought the hat fit well and was suppose to sit that low. I’m not much of a hat wearer, so maybe he is right.
I live up in the northwest were it rains from Oct-June. I’ve always wanted a hat to keep the rain out of my face. Each year I say to myself, this will be the year of the hat! I will find the perfect one and actually wear it. But I never do. I always end up with a hat that is too big or goofy looking on me.
Also, I’m not exactly sure what the rules are when it comes to hats. Can you just throw it on with whatever you are wearing as long as it doesn’t clash? Or should you pick up the color of the hat in another part of your outfit?
Anyway, back to the J.Crew bucket hat. It is really cute and I loved the Butterscotch color. It is a pink nude shade that warms up your skin with out being too colorful.
Have you tried the bucket hat? What did you think of the style and fit?
I laughed when I saw this pic, who knew my hair was so Farrah yesterday.

the hat look cute on you; on me it had the appearance of a conehead, not quite the look I was seeking.
I love this hat on you! I'm eager to try it on!
The hat is in my shopping cart-thanks for the review! I wish it came in some cooler tones that would work with my azalea Lady Day so I'm planning on the black.
I think your DH is correct, the low brim is the nature of the hat. It really looks nice on you! That color is pretty neutral and should go with many things.
The hat is very cute on you Shannon.
I had high hopes for it but the XS was too small and looked funny on me. I'll try the larger size too because I agree with your DH that it should sit lower.
I think this hat is darling! I too am guilty of the I-want-a-hat-but-then-I-never-wear-it problem! Uh! I think this really COULD be the year of the hat – get it and try it – you look great in it!
Thanks ladies. Maybe I will go back for it next week. I do have a 25 rewards card to spend.
Anon- LOL at conehead. I'll watch out for that
Hex- Sounds cute together. I miss the peony!
Cute Shannon. It's on my wishlist now
I think it's a good price too.
Sits low on me too, Shannon. And I'm the opposite of you- they typically can't make hats big enough to fit my huge noggin', which is why I was so excited to see this in a M-L.
I like the hat a lot but I do feel like I'm a bit incognito when I wear it- like I'm just peeking out at the world, wishing to remain hidden. I'm sure I won't mind this once the temperature and the snow starts falling, right? Right.
I love that butterscotch color- I have it in the green, but the butterscotch might be next on my list!
Love the hat on you. I bought this in the olive color (seen here) and really really like it. I'm also somewhat coveting the same hat in the orange color! the s/m was a *tad* snug on me but just enough to be secure.
I picked this up at PP today– I'm glad I had a chance to try it first because I preferred the M/L . The small sat too high on my head and the larger size gives me the lower fit that I wanted, plus room to pull it down over a ponytail. I chose basic black–I would have loved a purple or wine version.
I also used to believe I looked silly in hats. And then, I found out I just didn't know how to wear them. I highly recommend you search out more hats. Thanks for posting a picture of this little number on your head. I was just looking at it on JCrew's website wondering how it looks on a real head. It's very cute, but I'm not sure if it is deep enough in back for me — I'm looking for something 1920s.
