Hi ladies, I hope you don’t mind a little quick market research
This is just for my own reference. I want to make sure I am on the same page as you when it comes to future post topics and give away prizes you would be interested in.
Please post and let me know: what are your favorite stores and shopping websites?
It does not have to be strictly women’s clothing. I’d love to hear about any stores or sites you frequently shop with.
Thanks!

Though I read your blog, I do not shop at J Crew or Anthropologie!
I do shop at the major dept. stores (except Macys) like Nordstroms, Bloomingdales, Dillards. Banana Republic is okay.
Shoes are best at heels.com, 6pm, and eBay.
I have a much lower pricepoint than most here.

J Crew, Anthropologie, and Ann Taylor/Loft
Let’s see – the highlights, both online and in the “real” world, would be J.Crew, Anthropologie, Ann Taylor Loft, and Nordstrom. I also occasionally drop in on Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, and Old Navy. Online I also visit, though only occasionally purchase from, shopbop, revolve, bluefly, and endless. And, of course, amazon!
Love these stores because they have petite sizes IN THE STORE:
Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Talbots. I like Eddie Bauer too because I can order petites from the store (including down coats, rain jackets, etc) without a shipping charge.
I do not own anything from Martin and Osa or Anthropologie because they don’t fit me at all.
Lately been finding great shoe deals on Ebay and Sierra Trading Post.
Brick & Mortar: Barney’s Co-op, Saks, Bergdorf, Century 21, H&M, Zara, boutiques.
Online: Anthro, J.Crew, Nordstrom, Endless, Zappos.
Guilty pleasures: Ann Taylor Loft, American Eagle, any of the Gap family.
I shop at some other places too but those are the main victims on my monthly credit card bill.
Martin + Osa, J Crew, Gap, BR. Nordstrom and sometimes H&M, Zara, and Anthropologie. I also like Lucky Brand for casual stuff.
oooh…forgot Boden! Love them but can be hit or miss.
I buy the most at Nordies, lululemon and Nike online.

Furniture is West Elm and Urban Home (shopurbanhome.net)
Anthropologie, JCrew, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Amazon, Zappos, Shoebuy, Nordstrom, Target, Sephora, ModCloth…starting to look at Shabby Apple b/c of blog rec’s. DickBlick & Pearl Paint for art supplies. JetPens (brush pens). I’m sure there are others I just can’t remember at the moment.

J.Crew, of course! And eBay, for the thrill of the hunt. With Xmas coming up I am really trying to reduce shopping for myself so I’m trying to stay away from the retail sites and stick to the blogs for inspiration and help shopping my closet. When I’m not forced to be so virtuous in addition to JC I enjoy Nordstrom, ATL, AT, and wind up making a lot of purchases at Land’s End. I often browse Sephora and Makeup Alley, which is funny because I hardly wear any makeup! I visit Amazon for books and other media, and browse Alibris for first editions. For inspiration and distraction I visit Shipwreck Beads and Fire Mountain Gems–oooh, shiny!
He he he. I thought I was going to be the weird one here, but I see these on alot of other peoples’ lists:

In order of most often shopped: J. Crew, Anthropologie, Bluefly, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor Loft, Boden and Gap.
I occassionaly like to look at Brooks Brothers for sweaters – they are expensive, but they occassionally go on sale, and their quality is >> J.Crew.
Off topic, but Shannon, have you ever seen the Sweeping Frills Sweater in an Anthro store? The nearest one is about 3 hours from me, and I am interested in getting it, but the online reviews say it is super short, unlike how it appears on the model. Have you seen this sweater or tried it on?
I probably do most of my shopping at Target. They have a lot of great stuff and a lot of terrible stuff, but I’ve learned to be picky and I get a lot of compliments for finding the good stuff. I also shop a lot at Ann Taylor Loft (though only on sale), Old Navy (full price and sale), and JCrew (sale and Ebay, never full price.)
Great blog, btw!
J. Crew (for everything except bags)
Ralph Lauren Polo and Rugby(Oxford/Rugby shirts & jackets)
Nordstrom (shoes, bags & coats)
Talbots (flattering pants)
Anthropologie (unique items & style books)
For everything else,
Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, Barnes & Nobel, Borders and sometimes Eddie Bauer. If Lands End had a B&M, I would check out the new Canvas line, I’m curious.
Thanks for all the replies ladies!! You mentioned several places I hadn’t thought of, very helpful!
Laura-Thank you!
Stephanie- I haven’t tried on that sweater but I’ll look for it next time I’m at Anthro
Old navy, Gap, Target, Ann taylor loft online and instore. I luv looking at j crew, but since I don’t live near one. I hate ordering and having it not fit.
Banana Republic, J. Crew, Ann Taylor, ATL, Nordstroms, Zappos, Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma.
Here are the places I love to shop at the most: J Crew, Ann Taylor Loft, Barnes & Noble, Anthropologie, Target, Etsy, eBay, The Childrens Place, Gap Kids, DownEast Basics, Ruche, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Best Buy, Steinmart and HomeGoods
I go everywhere, as you know, but the stores that I purchase…and keep the items from.. are:
J Crew
Forever 21
Target
Ebay, too
Latest stores I’m getting into are Loft & Ann Taylor (less than Loft, though)
Lululemon, Target, Macy’s, J. Crew, Banana Republic – the nearest shopping mall is a three hour drive for me!
jcrew, ann taylor loft, ann taylor, banana, gap, old navy, target
When I was younger (and made less money), I was all about Gap and Old Navy. But my closet has had some huge turnover in the past year. It’s mostly Jcrew, Anthropologie, Banana Republic. My favorite shopping websites are Jcrew and Sephora. I saw that someone above mentioned Lululemon Athletica. I took up Pilates a few months ago and was excited to find Lululemon after my instructor mentioned the store. It’s got such cute workout clothes!
Thanks again for all the store suggestions ladies! I have a great list now of places to check out in 2010
