For once I was able to snatch up something I have been coveting from the Anthropologie sale! I jumped online first thing this morning, which being on the west coast means I was already behind the crowd. I added the Manisa and Grand Cru dresses to my cart right away.
You may remember I tried on the Grand Cru dress in my Mega Anthro post a few days ago and loved it. To be really useful in my every day wardrobe though, I do think it needs to be paired with a sweater coat or a tie waist cardigan like the Graceful Point in turquoise?
Unfortunetly, I have neither a sweater coat or a tie waist cardigan and none are on sale that fit the bill. So, pass on the Grand Cru
As for the Manisa, it looks uber cute but I haven’t tried it on. I hate risking my sale dollar on something that may not work out. Especially when things you know are a win may sell out quickly.
And speaking of selling out. What I did decide to order was the last size 0 Stork club jacket in black. I have been longing for this piece since I tried it on 2 months ago!
The problem is, it’s been so long since I tried this on, I’m not exactly sure what I will wear with it. If you have any styling ideas, please leave me a comment!
Here is my dressing room pic

Did you pick up anything from the Anthropologie sale??

it’s so funny….those are the exact dresses i added to my cart when i discovered the sale….i’m hesitating though because i just got the twinkle by wenlan silken trellis dress and i’m not sure where i’ll where that dress….let alone these two! what were your thoughts on the Grand Cru? is it lined? i think i might need an S in that dress…i am 32C….what do you think?
The Trillis dress looks beautiful! Is it wearable with a bra? The back looks pretty tricky.
I’m a 34c and took an XS in the Cru. I believe it was fully lined. And the flower does not stick out obnoxiously from the chest. I really liked it
you can’t really wear a bra with the silken trellis dress…unless you plan to wear a cardigan over it and keep it on…the bra strap will show through the back cutouts….it’s a gorgoeus dress though…hmmm..the bold boutonierre dress (the summer version of the grand cru dress)in XS was too small for me..do you think this one runs bigger?
I just bought the Grand Cru dress today and I find the fit very similar to the Bold Boutonniere dress. I am about 5’9, 120 lbs. and a 34C and I needed the S in both dresses (I could get the XS zipped up as long as I wasn’t wearing a bra, but barely). I wear an XS in just about everything else so I would say that this dress fits a bit on the small side, especially if you are a C cup or higher. Hope that helps!
Thanks for posting about the Boutonniere Caitlin! I don’t think I ever actually tried that one on.
Yay for scoring the Stork Club jacket, I know you loved it when it came out.
I adore that Stork Club jacket–for me it would be a “wear with anything” piece, from jeans and a tee to a sheath dress for work to a satin skirt for evening.
I agree with hexicon- it’s a pretty wearable jacket, as long as you keep the proportions right. Since it does have a swingy shape to it, I’d keep anything you wear on the bottom fairly slim-fitting- pencil skirt, skinny jeans, etc. It’s a darling piece; enjoy it, you lucky duck!
The jacket arrived today and I am so glad I jumped on it! Gotta love anthro for actually having one in stock when they say they do.
You ladies are right, I can see myself wearing it with a ton of things. I though when I first tried it on it would be very versatile but sometimes I tell myself these things just because I want something lol
