Anthropologie review time!
This dress worked out much better for me than I expected. I took the XS and it has a very form fitting shape. I was surprised by all the reviews that said the waist was set high. It seemed perfect to me but I guess I have a high waist. Also many said the dress was very short. Again, I am short so it worked out perfect for me. For some reason I expected the fabric to be crisp and maybe a little stiff but it was actually very soft and comfortable with a some stretch. The one thing I didn’t love about the dress was the neck fit. It was high and tight. I felt a bit strangled.

I fell in love with this jacket. The fabric is soft, nubby, and fringed. The Chanel inspired design can’t be denied and since I will never have a Chanel why not this one? I took the size 0 and it just fit. The waist on this jacket is small and very fitted. Although at the time I completely adored it, looking at the pics I wonder if it is too short to be flattering with pants.. I think my green shirt underneath is throwing it off. The fabric design comes across a little harsh and angular in the photo. In real life the lovely texture softens the look. One thing I was immediately not fond of was the black trim behind the large snaps. This jacket is so pretty, it really deserves buttons.

Joe’s dark rinse leggings & Advantage leggings
Please note these are truly leggings not pants. No buttons or zippers at the waist or pockets. They have an elastic waist band. You’ll definitely want to wear them with longer shirts. I tried on the grey Advantage leggings in small. The leg fit was nice, fitted but not difficult to get on. However, they were a bit baggy in the waist and crotch.

In the dark rinse denim, I tried the XS. Much better fit in the waist but still not sure if I could get use to elastic. The waist feels like it is going to slide down. The ankles on both pair of leggings are very tight. I had to take my socks off just to get into them. They do have zippers at the ankles, which helps. The fit in the hips and butt is good. The back view is about as flattering as a no pocket legging can be. Still these are limited to tunic wear. I’ll stick with my M+O skinny jeans which fit similar to a legging but can be worn as pants as well.

I’m more ruffled out than I ever thought I’d be. Still I couldn’t help but love this top. It’s that damn cute little bow that makes it irresistible. I tried on the size small which fit well in the body but the straps are a little too long. I’d probably go with my usual XS or just have the straps taken up. Oddly the ruffles do not go all the way around. But I think the fitted back makes this top a sleeker and less cupcake than most. Ruffle tanks are a dime a dozen right now though, so this top is going to need a markdown before I buy.

This top has caught my eye a few times so I finally gave it a whirl. In store it also comes in a pretty subdued red. I took the XS and was surprised by how roomy this blouse is. I couldn’t find the back zip that it supposedly has but that was no problem because it slipped over the head easily. The oversized shape could be quite cute with skinny jeans and flats. But I couldn’t figure out what to do with the neckline. It is suppose to drape in a pretty cowl neck but no matter what I did with it, it just lay there looking awkward.

Not my usual style but I was drawn to this cute tweedy jacket. I have a soft spot for elbow patches. Unfortunately, the smallest they had was a size 2 which was too big. I think this jacket would be the perfect topper to turn a causal day dress into office wear.

What do you think of these Anthropologie pieces? Anything I should add to my wishlist?

I love the snapshot jacket on you, very flattering.
So you were right in your initial assessment.
The rest were very nice to see. Thank you for the reviews!
The Snapshot jacket is very cute! I have the Professoressa jacket and I love it. I did have to wear my true size (0) so it’s worth hunting it down.
Mmm, I am in love with the Professoressa jacket… for me! But for you I love the Snapshot jacket. It is very chic to mix with your style.
I too love the Cosgrove dress (it looks great on you). I tried on the black when it first arrived in stores and fell in love with it. It’s on my wishlist and I’m waiting for a sale so I can snatch it up!
Thanks for the reviews!
I also love the Free Flow tank, I so want it. I am going to check out the new Anthro near by me tomorrow and I hope they have it.
I love, love that snapshot jacket on you, it’s adorable.
I have the Joe’s pants in black with zippers up the outside ankle. I love them! I actually find that they can be worn more like pants because of the jean-like material they are made of, and have worn them with shorter shirts. They still look good, and I always get compliments whenever I wear them. I haven’t had any issues with them sliding down, and I really love the zippers on the ankles!
I like the Free Flow Tank. I think the navy color and the ruffles would look really cute under a red cardigan. Have you seen the Joe’s Valerie Best Friend jeans in person? If so, is the wash as faded as it appears online? Sometimes it’s so hard to tell with the pictures they post. Also, have you seen the Claudine Tee in person (the short sleeved version of the wind rippled tee)? I ordered the wind rippled tee the second time it was available and there were some huge quality issues to say the least. I was just wondering what the fabric, etc. was like on this short sleeved version. I also wanted to say that I think the shorter hair cut will look very nice on you. Do you have bangs or have you ever had bangs? I cut bangs back in my hair several years ago and when I look back at pictures before bangs I just wish I had done it sooner!
I love the free flow tank. but you’re right, ruffle tanks are everywhere and i’d need a markdown, too. really though, everything looked good on you!
Wow, I just reread my post from yesterday and I sure can ask a lot of questions! Sorry about that! Thanks for all you do to help us readers out.
Thanks for your thoughts ladies! I am going to try and hold out for a markdown on that snapshot jacket. *crosses fingers*
Amanda- I haven’t seem those pieces yet but I will look for them next time I am in store. Roxy has a review of the s/s wind rippled tee on her blog effortless anthropologie
I do, well did, have bangs but they don’t last long. They grow super fast and I’m terrible about getting back in for a trim. I will probably have them cut again on Wed and let them grow out into the other looks I posted. Appt day is almost here, so excited!
