Anthropologie review time!

Cosgrove dress

This dress worked out much better for me than I expected. I took the XS and it has a very form fitting shape. I was surprised by all the reviews that said the waist was set high. It seemed perfect to me but I guess I have a high waist. Also many said the dress was very short. Again, I am short so it worked out perfect for me. For some reason I expected the fabric to be crisp and maybe a little stiff but it was actually very soft and comfortable with a some stretch. The one thing I didn’t love about the dress was the neck fit. It was high and tight. I felt a bit strangled.

Snapshot jacket

I fell in love with this jacket. The fabric is soft, nubby, and fringed. The Chanel inspired design can’t be denied and since I will never have  a Chanel why not this one? I took the size 0 and it just fit. The waist on this jacket is small and very fitted. Although at the time I completely adored it, looking at the pics I wonder if it is too short to be flattering with pants.. I think my green shirt underneath is throwing it off. The fabric design comes across a little harsh and angular in the photo. In real life the lovely texture softens the look. One thing I was immediately not fond of was the black trim behind the large snaps. This jacket is so pretty, it really deserves buttons.

Joe’s dark rinse leggings & Advantage leggings

Please note these are truly leggings not pants. No buttons or zippers at the waist or pockets. They have an elastic waist band. You’ll definitely want to wear them with longer shirts. I tried on the grey Advantage leggings in small. The leg fit was nice, fitted but not difficult to get on. However, they were a bit baggy in the waist and crotch.

In the dark rinse denim, I tried the XS. Much better fit in the waist but still not sure if I could get use to elastic. The waist feels like it is going to slide down. The ankles on both pair of leggings are very tight. I had to take my socks off just to get into them. They do have zippers at the ankles, which helps. The fit in the hips and butt is good. The back view is about as flattering as a no pocket legging can be. Still these are limited to tunic wear.  I’ll stick with my M+O skinny jeans which fit similar to a legging but can be worn as pants as well.

Free flow tank

I’m more ruffled out than I ever thought I’d be. Still I couldn’t help but love this top. It’s that damn cute little bow that makes it irresistible. I tried on the size small which fit well in the body but the straps are a little too long. I’d probably go with my usual XS or just have the straps taken up. Oddly the ruffles do not go all the way around. But I think the fitted back makes this top a sleeker and less cupcake than most. Ruffle tanks are a dime a dozen right now though, so this top is going to need a markdown before I buy.

Strewn leaves top

This top has caught my eye a few times  so I finally gave it a whirl. In store it also comes in a pretty subdued red. I took the XS and was surprised by how roomy this blouse is. I couldn’t find the back zip that it supposedly has but that was no problem because it slipped over the head easily. The oversized shape could be quite cute with skinny jeans and flats. But I couldn’t figure out what to do with the neckline. It is suppose to drape in a pretty cowl neck but no matter what I did with it, it just lay there looking awkward.

Professoressa jacket

Not my usual style but I was drawn to this cute tweedy jacket. I have a soft spot for elbow patches. Unfortunately, the smallest they had was a size 2 which was too big. I think this jacket would be the perfect topper to turn a causal day dress into office wear.

What do you think of these Anthropologie pieces? Anything I should add to my wishlist?
