Monica asked:
“Hello Shannon! I’m a huge fan of your blog, and have started making simple jewelry after reading your tutorial from a post last year. When will you debut your spring collection? Thanks!”
Hi Monica! I’m so glad I could inspire you to take up jewelry. Who knew my little ribbon necklace tutorial would send so many of us on the beading path!
My Spring collection will be released in Feb. Hopefully the first part of the month! Each piece is very near complete, they just need finishing touches. I’ll probably be starting the photography next week. I’d really like to show each piece modeled but I am no model so I’ll be shooting 100s of pics until I get it right lol.
The collection is loosely based on a citrus and flower garden theme. (I’m not taking it literally with floral beads though.) I consider it sort of a day and night or transitional collection. Some of the necklaces are in a darker color scheme which you may not immediately associate with spring but I think this will work out well since the release is in the winter. I don’t get in the mood for ALL sunshine and brights or pastels until much later in the year. Also, I didn’t want a full line of pastels that would wash every one out. So, it’s a mix.
The Spring line includes 6 necklaces and 3 bracelets so far. They are:
Zest stackable bracelets in Lime, Lemon and Grapefruit.
Ginger Belle necklace
Pink Lemonade necklace
Rosy Metal swag necklace
Midnight in the Garden necklace
Dark Orchid sparkle necklace
Sea and Sand crystal necklace
Thanks for your question Monica!

Great question! Can’t wait to see the new pieces…though I still have my heart set on one day getting that coral bib necklace. (It’s so pretty!)
As a medium-toned gal, I appreciate that you’re going to have more saturated colors in your collection. Like others of my coloring, lighter colors tend to wash me out completely.
Question Shannon, why don’t you have a big picture link in your banner menu to Dressing Room Jewelry?
Lol Diana, I keep forgetting to add the link here on the new site. I’ll probably take out the Wishlist tab and put something there. In the meantime though I need to just add my old ad. As soon as I am done stitching these necklaces!
I added 3 more pieces to the collection today. Two bright necklaces and a clear crystal bracelet to mix with the Zest pieces. I am done now though! Must move on to pics
This all sounds so lovely! Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. I’ve promised myself to get your acorn bracelet someday, it’s gorgeous
Shannon, I’m really excited to see what you’ve done. I admire your creativity!
THE CURIOUS GARDEN
Stacking bracelets, oh what fun, bring on the spring bling! And echoing Diana about making sure your fans here know about Dressing Room Jewelry. Hang in there, all the work WILL be worth it.
