I was so excited yesterday to see my store had the Two paths ruffle trench! They only had size 6 and up on the floor *momentarily crushed* but the SA had my size hiding in the back room. I tried on the size 0. The trench fits perfect in the shoulders but was a little roomy in the body. The sleeves are also a bit long for me. I was hoping it came in petite online but nope. The regular size 0 is certainly workable, it just runs slightly larger than my Inverness trench.
The fabric is polyester with a low key shine. Just slick enough for rain to not soak in. I doubt it is water proof though. The soft fabric combined with the lining makes the coat a little squishy and more comfortable than a crisp cotton trench.
If it was cotton instead of poly, the ruffles may have been thinner and less bulky. But can you image the wrinkles! Even in the polyester the coat could use a pressing. Although there is some width added by the layers from the hip down, I don’t think it is unflattering. They lay nice and flat and the coat is surprisingly streamline from the side and back.
Now for the pics! I took this out onto the floor so I could get better photos for you. Unfortunately, there was something on the ceiling casting a major shadow on the mirrors. Still, much better than Anthro’s dark dressing rooms.

I really like the Two Paths trench but I did not bring it home. With a price tag of $188 I need to think carefully about it. Especially since I already have the fab Inverness trench in my closet. Dh made a good point though, the Inverness is very dark and really not a spring coat. He is such an enabler lol!
I’d love to know your thoughts on the Two paths trench!

Thanks for the post! I ordered it and it’s currently taking a scenic tour of the country according to the UPS tracking log. I hope to see it sometime next week
I appreciate all the pictures. I think I’m going to like it, although now I’m thinking the 2 I ordered may be too big.
I love it, it looks great on you! I was just looking for this yesterday, neither of the Portland stores had it though so i ended up ordering it. I can’t wait for it to arrive. I agree with your husband that this is more of a spring trench than the iverness. I’m sure that there are room for both in your closet, right?
I’m a total shopping enabler too…
Oh it looks fantastic on you! I really want this but agree that the price is giving me pause… not that I don’t think it is a good value but because I really don’t need yet another spring weight trench that I can wear for like a few weeks of the year. Thanks for the review!!
Gorgeous! I love it, it looks great on you. $188 isn’t THAT much for an all purpose trench if you think about cost per wear… Assuming that because you’re in the NW you’d get quite a few months’ use out of it. DH is right in that the Inverness is much more of a fall/winter coat, and this one is perfect for spring. If it looked that great on me, I’d get it. Just sayin’.
Sharon- Oh no, slow shipping sux
I hope the 2 works for you!
Thanks for your thoughts ladies!!
Diana- Your, just saying, cracked me up lol
You look great in this trench! I would probably look fat and frumpy in it, but it totally works on you. It would be a perfect spring trench. $188…hmmm….
The trench is fab on you. I am a little hesitant as it is polyester. Do you think it is worth at 188? I have to try it on irl but you look so slim in it, not that you are not already very fit.
Cindy
Cindy- The poly doesn’t bother me since it will be so good in the rain. I think it’s worth $188 for the style alone but of course I’d rather pay less!
Honestly, the sleeves look too long. I guess you could have them tailored, but then that would mess up the buttons I think. This is a huge pet peeve of mine: too long sleeves that are difficult to alter.
