I caught the movie Penelope on cable last week. What a cute story and I LOVED her outfits. Very Anthropologie! If you haven’t seen the movie, especially if your an Anthro girl, you must!
In case you haven’t heard, yes she has a pig nose lol.

What are some of your favorite films for fashion inspiration? My netflix queue needs suggestions!

I’ve watched this movie a couple of times, and I agree that her clothes are super cute!
500 Days of Summer… Amazing outfits! Iffy movie.
Thanks for suggesting Penelope, I especially like the last outfit you posted! I’m going to put it in my queue!
I think this is a fun topic. Okay, if you at all can stand Elvis, he did quite a few movies that were fun and quirky during some very fashionably forward times (hee hee). Specifically the early 60′s. One movie that reminded me so much of J-crew fashions was Girls, Girls, Girls. It is set in 1962. Loved the clothes, made me want to get some cigarette pants and boat neck sweaters. Anyways, we have a Roku box and if you search Elvis Presley some of his many movies come up. Again, check the year some of them were made as the fashions really dictate a sign of the times.
Julie- Aren’t they! I just wish I could find better pics of her outfits online. Guess I’ll just have to watch it again
Caroline- Thanks for the rec, I’m adding it to the queue!
Josie-Next time I see an Elvis movie on TV, I’m gonna watch! I just finished watching A Hard Days Night for the 100th time; I love the cute 60′s bobs! I’m going to grow some of the layers out in my hair and try to get that look
Depends on my mood. For that 1920s Parisian inspiration, I love “Henry and June”. For quirky and Euro, I really liked “The Cook, the Thief, his Wife, and Her Lover”, because if you notice, the lover’s outfit color changes to match every room she is in. I adore Bette Davis, and many of her films have her dressed in nicely fitted dresses, formal wear, casual chic, etc etc….there are so many other films….. I agree with Josie, this is a fun topic!
Amelie changed my fashion life!
Party Girl with Parker Posey is one of my favorites…..
Loved the dresses worn by Kate Hepburn and her staff in Desk Set. As a fashion loving librarian, I might be biased.
Alice in Wonderland! Her wardrobe is just wonderful. Enough said.
I’m terribly late in adding this, but I love the character Oona’s style in the movie TiMER.
