DRJ: Melon tangle necklace

My Sunday is all about jewelry again. Well jewelry and 3 cheese lasagna, yum. I finished up my Melon multi layer chain necklace and just love how it turned out because it really shows my love of vintage costume jewelry! It all started with some vintage lucite cabs I found deep in the internet. I was worried the lucite would look plastic-y but they don’t and I adore the melon color. I added  a couple of the vintage faceted glass cabs I had shipped form Paris not long ago and then started piling on the chain and pearls. I tied it up with black soft spun grosgrain ribbon which adds some drama. I left the ribbons unstitched though, so I can change it out for ivory or maybe peach.  As always, I wanted a piece that made a statement but wasn’t over whelming.  Also, I wanted a bit of tangle but not so much that it looked like a hot mess that fell out of the bottom of your jewelry box. I think it came together nicely. Unfortunately I only have a few of these cabs so this piece is limited edition. The melon necklace is in my Etsy shop, if you care to take a peek :)

Speaking of jewelry… I decided it would be fun to do a DRJ Bubble necklace give away. So, stay tune for that later this week!

DRJ Bubble necklace

My Bubble style necklace is finally done! I thought the hardest part was finding all the supplies but it kind of took forever to put together! Mainly because I treated the brass to prevent tarnishing and had to allowing for drying time in between. I used turquoise glass cabochons, Czech glass beads, and gold filled chain. I didn’t find too many colors available in the glass cabs but there is pink and coral in vintage lucite..thinking about ordering those and if they are too plastic-y looking, just using them for a necklace for DD. Do you ever wear lucite?

Anthropologie review round up

Playing catch up again on my reviews! As always, sorry for the crappy pics. I got stuck in the pit of ultimate darkness this time. I think it’s time to give up on the Iphone for pics and buy a small camera. Any recs for a little camera that takes good pics in low light?

J.Brand houlihan pants

I was starting to catch the Houlihan fever. Luckily, considering the price, they really didn’t work for me. The front is not bad but they were not flattering from behind. The pockets are too far apart for this bubble butt. My rear looked larger and yet some how flatter at the same time :( I can see why people like them though.. The material is really nice. Thicker with stretch, not the thin papery fabric you usually get with cargos. I tried on my usual size 26 and as is always the case with me and J.Brand, there was gaping in the waist. I wouldn’t size down though because I would not want the legs any tighter.
