This is gonna sound really weird, but the Ann Taylor, Talbots and H&M shots are speaking to me the most. Thanks for putting together this collection; it’s very interesting to see all the brands side-by-side.

I’m scared that I liked the Urban Outfitters photos! What scared me more is that a JCA posted that IRL a lot of the JC fall items look like the spring items, only in darker colors. I am so tired of raw edges and ragged chiffon!
In terms of seeing things I’d actually buy, I like the Talbots shots a lot. I also like the model’s hairdo. Whenever I try a messy updo I get drunken librarian rather than casual elegance.
I’m loving the Talbots collection – talk about chic!! J. Crew is looking a little hobo. I really like the Loft dress in the second picture, although I’m not sure I could really pull off that color.
All in all, I’m pretty excited for the Fall lines (although my husband and wallet are not).
I love the brown gloves from Talbots but I am unsure about proper etiquette for when they should be removed. I feel like wearing them out to drinks with friends might be okay but keeping them on through a dinner might be weird. Any thoughts? I love, love, love the number 6 block from Talbots.

Is it just me or do many of these looks (AT, Talbot’s, club monaco…) pull at our heartstrings because they’re flashbacks to “old jcrew”????!!! However, I’m loving Loft! Looks very in line w/contemporary lines @ the high-end retailers. I mean so does jcrew, but Loft does it in a wearable manner.

@B, since you asked about glove etiquette: I am a glove aficionada–because I am otherwise slender but have “man hands” AND I have problems with cold, blue hands I like to cover my paws, especially for dressy occasions (like both my weddings, LOL). I have been eyeing both pairs of gloves in that Talbots preview.
So, I looked up this question in several etiquette manuals years ago. They pretty consistently say don’t eat or drink in gloves–Miss Manners says that if you touch food or drink with a gloved hand warts will spring up all over it, and also that jewelry must be worn inside the glove. Of course in Edith Wharton’s day, ladies could unbutton their full-length gloves at the wrist and roll the hand part of the glove up during dinner.
Personally, I break these rules, up to a point: If I’m wearing a thin, long glove I might leave it on for drinking cocktails or wine out of a stemmed glass, although I would definitely take gloves off before eating. Also, I think a bracelet worn outside a glove can be charming. So IMO you’d be fine for drinks with the girls but might not want to keep them on if it’s a stuffier occasion. JMO! I hope you enjoy them!

I’m really loving the Talbots shots. There’s something crisp and classic that I like about every image. Of course, I also love the Leifsdottir stuff, but since I can never afford anything they make except on super clearance, I can’t get too excited about their Fall line. And J Crew is disappointing, but to be fair, I rarely ever like their Look Books, but always find a few pieces later that I adore.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for putting together all of the fall eye candy pictures! I cannot wait to start wearing sweaters and boots and layering my clothes again, although it’s several months away for us Texans. And wow, Talbots, I never would have thought to look twice at their clothes before, lol.

Forgot to add that the model for Ann Taylor is gorgeous!!! It makes me want to go get my hair dyed!
I love all these images and it is definitely getting me ready for the fall. Bring on the tweed!
I see the cast of Oliver is back at JCrew. ; )
