Last week Dh and I went to the Beady Eye concert. I felt like I had to really scrounge in my closet to find some to wear. I wanted to be comfortable and warm, yet not look like a mom! Turned out the club was so cold I ended up wearing my coat the entire time, fashion fail lol.
Wearing: Anthro Polaire vest, Free People crochet cuff tee, Joe’s Visionaire jeans, American Eagle side-zip booties
The American Eagle Side-zip booties worked out really well. They were comfortable enough right out of the box. I added an arch insole since the angle is not that supportive. The faux leather is not plastic or cheap looking. I took my regular size 7. Overall, great buy for $35.
The concert was amazing, although we had to wait for Beady Eye forrrrrever. We are old and it was past our bedtime by the time the show started at 10:30. So sad, I know lol. Here is a clip of my favorite song from the show, Man of Misery. I hope you will watch it because it is awesome. If you’re in Reader, you will probably have to click through to see it. If you’ve never heard of Beady eye they were essentially formerly Oasis, a band from Manchester England.
QUICK NOTE: I changed the blog template again ( I know, even Dh is laughing at me at this point). I just couldn’t deal with not having a sidebar, it’s hard to keep things organized with out one. Anyway, the new design is pretty streamline and simple, I think. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I also updated my old posts. I finally cropped my photos and added back a whole bunch of my outfit posts. You can find them under Wearing in the sidebar (yay for sidebars)

Very cool outfit — too bad you had to cover it up! That FP tee is on my radar now. What a great layering piece. Of all the blogs I read, I relate most to your sense of style, and always look forward to your posts. I dress for work and church, but am more me in outfits such as this. I’m no spring chicken either, but going to concerts is my favorite thing to do. My DH and I are going out kicking and screaming. Ha, ha.
I’ll check out Beady Eye after work .
It’s been a long time since we’ve been out to a show but now I want to go to more! I wish we had a better babysitting situation, asking MIL to stay over until 2am is not cool and I feel bad.
Yeah I am loving Free people for layering tops. My wishlist with them is ridiculous!
Hi Shannon.
I didn’t know you were a Beady Eye/Oasis fan. I’m so thrilled as I it always feels like there are so few folks who appreciate their music in the US. I just attended their last show this past Friday, and they were in excellent form!
BTW, I also took forever trying to find the right outfit for the event. I wanted to be dressed up, but not like overdressed. It’s so hard to find the balance since so much of my Anthro clothes tend to be dressier or more day-time oriented so I really have to look around for items that are more night oriented and not too prissy or fussy. How do you decide what to wear for those kind of events?
SL
SL- Yay Beady eye fans!! I know what you mean, I kind of figured nobody would have heard of them lol. Will you go see Noel when he makes it up to the NW? I assume you’re near me since our shows where just a couple days apart. I love Beady eye but I flip my shit for Noel, so I can’t wait lol.
That’s the exact problem I had, trying to find something not prissy. I have a lot of ‘cute’ but very little ‘hot’ or ‘cool’. It actually opened my eyes that I need to start shopping less at Anthro. I’ve been trying to add some cooler pieces from Free People and would love to get some stuff from All Saints. For this show I figured I’d just go with black. It always feels sleek and edgy. I had the hardest time finding something other than a cardigan. I really didn’t want to Mom it up with my usual sweater lol.
Since I expect (demand!) Noel to be touring here in the spring, I’m keeping my eye out for some sort of form fitting top for that show. I’ve been eyeing this one from Allsaints but it’s hella $$

Yeah, it would be hard with kids. I just have to worry about my dog having an accident. Ha, ha. Was Liam chatty between songs? He CRACKS me up. I love reading his interviews. Be sure and post your potential “cool” outfits. I’m always on the lookout as well.
Vaporous- He wasn’t as chatty as I’ve seen him. Of course I can never understand a flippin words he’s saying on stage anyway. The accent I get but through the mic, I throw my hands in the air lol. The crowd was pretty quiet though. They didn’t even sing along with the chorus of The Beat goes on, wth people?!
Hi Shannon,
Love the new layout! It is neat and clean and easy on the eyes.
My hubs and I are Oasis/Beady Eye fans, too! Thanks for the video treat. I really like your concert outfit, the uneven hemline on the Polaire vest & crochet cuffs on the FP top give your outfit an edgy vibe. Too bad you had to keep your coat on! I too don’t want to dress like a Mom when I go to a concert! Lol. Right now I have a long wishlist with All Saints – they have kickass “concert” clothes. Do you know how often they do online markdowns? Do you think their clothes run TTS? We don’t have a local store, so I have no idea.
The AE boots look good! They took forever to ship out the boots I ordered (studded clog bootie), tracking shows they won’t arrive until Thursday. I plan on getting some insoles for them, even though the heel is only 2.5″, I like my piggies to be comfy.
Athena- I am so excited about all the Beady eye/oasis fans here
I don’t know much about allsaints sales and sizing yet. I usually take an 8 but some stuff, like their coats, are all over the place with sizing. And I haven’t tried on too many of their tops. After Xmas I want to start making regular visits and try stuff on. I have to man up and not be intimidated by the young hipster salesstaff lol
I’m sorry your clogs took so long to ship, I hate that! I expressed mine so I could wear them last week
I love this vest- it’s one of my favourite anthropologie pieces (don’t own it, but love it!) You totally nailed the look- cool and unique.
Thanks for lettingme know, Shannon. I look forward to your All Saints reviews. I’m crossing my fingers they have a big sale after Christmas. Don’t be intimidated by those young hipsters!
Thanks for the info on the boots. They look great. Love that vest!
