Wardrobe Review is a fashion and shopping blog written by me, Shannon. I am a 30ish woman living in a small town outside of Seattle. I am fashion obsessed and love shopping but have a pretty average income. Sadly, I wasn’t born with a fashion trust fund. You won’t see me writing about my latest designer haul, inherited Alaia, or $5 vintage Dior finds. You will see me.. inspired by the runway, drooling over things I may or may not ever buy, and wading through retail in search of workable trends and the elusive perfect staples.
My style is always evolving. My goal is to build a wardrobe that is chic and on trend but also realistic and versatile. I may spend the day shopping in the city or I might just end up cleaning my bathroom floor, you just never know what excitement the day may bring lol. I do have a weakness for bows and ruffles but with the coming of winter and after a trip to Paris, I have a renewed love of black, grey, and little toughness to balance those girly details.
Regardless of my current favorite colors and embellishments though, the key to looking great in your clothing is how it fits. After trying on and photographing so many clothes I have learned to be obsessive about good fit. I have also become more and more of a stickler about quality. Since the recession, the quality of some brands seems to have fallen sharply. I have reached the point where I no longer hesitate to return ill fitting or poorly made items. I never take advantage of the “system” but I will not be taken advantage of either. I feel like it is our job as the consumer to let retailers know what is worth our dollar and what is not acceptable.
I am currently trying to find my own balance between quality, cost, value, and trendiness. I hope through the blog, you will help me stay true to these standards by leaving your feedback. Every one is welcome to leave their 2 cents, whether it is agreeable or not. There is nothing cliquish about this blog. Don’t ever hesitate to tell me something is awful lol. Even though sometimes I feel like a professional shopper, I can still be blinded by comfort or the idea behind a design.
Whether you choose to join in the comments or just kick back and look at the pics, I hope you will enjoy following along with my fashion finds, style experiments, giddy purchases, and disappointing returns.

For Wardrobe Review I try on, photo, and review newly released clothing from my favorite retailers. I often post about J.Crew and Anthropologie because for me, they are currently the best source for consistently on trend, feminine, fun but also age appropriate clothing and accessories.
Although I frequently write about these two brands, I am always branching out and looking for other labels to try. You will also see me post about Martin and Osa, Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor Loft, American Eagle Outfitters, Forever21, and even Target.
Major retailers like these offer the easiest (or laziest lol) shopping experience but my fashion heart is not necessarily with them. I am fascinated with the drive and creativity behind independent designers, labels, and boutiques. Through the blog I am happy to do my small part in helping indie designers spread the word about their brand.
