Stages of Wearing: super flare and lace cuff thermal

Today is more of an experiment than a completed outfit. I’m wearing my COH Super Flare jeans and Free People crafty cuff thermal. I needed another layer though because it’s cold and I am sick. Must have lots of layers when sickly.

I started out wearing the American Eagle Dolman sleeve sweater, which is comfy but a casual look that photos pretty poorly. I’ll stick to wearing this top with a thinner leg jean.

I decided to change the sweater out for something more structured. I really like the cropped jacket with the jeans but this is more of a mild weather Spring look.

I tried on some lighter color cardigans, not shown, but that was not working at all. The large flare on these jeans really needs something sleek and darker up top. So I grabbed my black cardigan and a scarf.

I look like I have cramps in this photo, *pose fail* lol

I don’t know that I love the green on green with the scarf. The scarf does have some blue in it but the green shade is a yellow undertone while the top is blue. I do like how the pattern scarf picks up on the lace sleeves, without overwhelming. Getting closer to a complete look.

I miss having these jeans hemmed to a 4″ heel length. They definitely look better with a long silhouette. But I hardly ever wear a 4″ heel, so I had them shorted to a 2.75″ heeled shoe.

Wearing, to a concert

Last week Dh and I went to the Beady Eye concert. I felt like I had to really scrounge in my closet to find some to wear. I wanted to be comfortable and warm, yet not look like a mom! Turned out the club was so cold I ended up wearing my coat the entire time, fashion fail lol.

Wearing: Shades of orange

I’m not exactly sure what you would call these colors, orange, umber, and peach? Whatever the name, it’s one of my favorite combos

Anthropologie boy tee
J.Crew Infinity cardigan
J.Crew patent belt
Joe’s Visionaire jeans
Ugg boots

Thanks for all your comments in the Closet cleaning post. I was leaning towards blog sale for awhile but then I counted up what I have to go and it is at least 50 items. That many would overwhelm the blog, you’d be scrolling and scrolling lol. So I am going to just list it all on Ebay. I also decided to list my old J.Crew catalogs. I’ll sell them in sets of 2008, 2009, and 2010.

It’s going to take awhile to get ready for the sale. Washing and hang drying each item is the biggest time kill! But I am already looking forward to the resulting tidy closet. I am getting rid of everything that doesn’t give me joy to wear.

Wearing: Oxfords

By request I’m posting about my Frye Carson oxfords. I’m wearing them today with slim pants and socks. And yes, that is the exact same sweater I wore last week in the post below. I told you, reality, and the reality is: I is lazy, lol.

As I mentioned in the previous post’s comments, my favorite way to wear these oxfords is with a patterned or colored sock. Today I went with a neutral but still contrasting grey sock. I always try to make the look deliberate and not like the nerdy shoes were an after thought.

Previous oxfords outfit, skinny jeans and argyle socks. I’ll have to try them with a skirt soon. I’ve worn them in the past with a pencil skirt but I know they’ll look better with something shorter and full.
