Wearing: Shades of orange

I’m not exactly sure what you would call these colors, orange, umber, and peach? Whatever the name, it’s one of my favorite combos

Anthropologie boy tee
J.Crew Infinity cardigan
J.Crew patent belt
Joe’s Visionaire jeans
Ugg boots

Thanks for all your comments in the Closet cleaning post. I was leaning towards blog sale for awhile but then I counted up what I have to go and it is at least 50 items. That many would overwhelm the blog, you’d be scrolling and scrolling lol. So I am going to just list it all on Ebay. I also decided to list my old J.Crew catalogs. I’ll sell them in sets of 2008, 2009, and 2010.

It’s going to take awhile to get ready for the sale. Washing and hang drying each item is the biggest time kill! But I am already looking forward to the resulting tidy closet. I am getting rid of everything that doesn’t give me joy to wear.

Gonna do it, cleaning out the closet

I’ve been cleaning out my closet today and realize

1: I have NOTHING to wear for winter. All my tops are thin and short sleeved *fail*

2: It is well past the time to get rid of some of this stuff!

I always mean to clean out my closet and ebay some shit, but I never do. It’s such a hassel. But I have a big pile of winter stuff to sell and I have an even larger stack of spring items. But I am wondering, is it worth off loading spring weight items now? I’m thinking it would be much better to wait until somewhere in Jan-March but I have no where to put this big stack of clothes until then! I guess I could move it to storage but I’ll have to buy a larger container to fit it all in, it’s over flowing right now.

I’m thinking Ebay instead of blog sale because I have a ton of stuff and want it all gone asap. J.Crew and Anthro mostly. Tops, skirts, jeans, shoes, jackets, and if I was really gonna get it together, jewelry.

What do you think? Ever ebay Spring clothing in Fall? Worth the time or no?

Also, I have some hemmed denim, AG, Citizens, Joes. Have you had any luck selling altered jeans?

Wearing: Oxfords

By request I’m posting about my Frye Carson oxfords. I’m wearing them today with slim pants and socks. And yes, that is the exact same sweater I wore last week in the post below. I told you, reality, and the reality is: I is lazy, lol.

As I mentioned in the previous post’s comments, my favorite way to wear these oxfords is with a patterned or colored sock. Today I went with a neutral but still contrasting grey sock. I always try to make the look deliberate and not like the nerdy shoes were an after thought.

J.Crew cashmere sweater in peony
Anthropologie Dapper and dashing trousers
Frye Carson oxfords in Fawn

Previous oxfords outfit, skinny jeans and argyle socks. I’ll have to try them with a skirt soon. I’ve worn them in the past with a pencil skirt but I know they’ll look better with something shorter and full.

Wearing: Color layers

Now that summer, my least favorite fashion season, is over, I am thinking about bringing back the occasional ootd post. I probably won’t make the posts private but I will crop them and probably delete off my server after a couple weeks. I delete so they don’t end up on Ebay or just float forever on the interwebs.

Problem with my outfits though, is they are pretty boring visually. I know this lol, but I am well past the dressing up for the blog stage. There will be no crazy ass blogger outfits, only real life. Which, I’ll face it, is not as interesting. Also, I wear jeans or pants 6 days a week. So there will be few cutie skirt looks, although I do occasionally like to dress like a human cupcake.

So let me know your thoughts. Is there a point to posting what I actually wear or are blogs better suited for living a dream?

Today’s outfit I was not even going to photos because it’s basically jeans and a sweater, how exciting is that lol. But once I added the cropped jacket and arm warmers that went with the peeking out black tee, I started to like the layers of color.

Anthro jacket (do not know the name)
JCrew peony cashmere sweater
Anthro boy tee
Sock dreams arm warmers
Joe’s Visionaire jeans
Antelope booties
