Anthropologie reviews: Foundational pencil skirt, Colorblocked skirt

First, let me apologize for the poor quality of some of my pics here. I’ve been trying to get away with just using my Iphone camera and it’s not really flying.

Foundational Pencil skirt (size 2), Instant Classic tee (size S)

I tried on the Foundational Pencil skirt a couple weeks ago. I took the size 2, which fit great, even a little roomy. I often take a size 4 in Anthro’s pencil skirts, so I think this skirt and the Square Study run a little larger than normal. The Foundational skirt is a pretty pink, slightly nubby fabric. It made me feel a little thick across the lower tummy but maybe I was just a bit bloated that day lol, since I think it looks pretty good in the pic. I’m adding this skirt to my sale wishlist. I’m not head over heels for it, but Dh loves it.

Fall Wishlist

I realize many of you are in no mood yet for Fall shopping. But here in the NW, our summer was epic fail, so I am plowing right on ahead in to Fall!

First I want to revisit my Fall shopping list from last year to determine what wishes I full filled and which items I still need.

2010 Fall wish list
1- Skinny trousers: Did not buy, still want! The punk in me always wants some skinny pants, preferably plaid!
2-Something Olive or Camel: Did buy the olive D’armee dress last year but never bought something camel. Would still love a just below the knee camel skirt.
3-Arm warmers: Did buy from Sock dreams and love them. Wore my black to death, so should pick up a second, lighter color.
4-Leather crossbody bag- Done! Thank you DH!
5-Scarves: Did not make any additions. Have a heard time decided which color(s) to get.
6-Knee boots: Bought black and brown Fryes last year, so done…. in knee high anyway ;)
7-Tights and warm socks- Bought a couple pairs of socks but nothing very cute, except my navy argyle. Do still need tights.
8-Plaid dress/skirt: Bought 2 plaid skirts last year, so pretty good there. Although, if another great one comes along…I won’t be opposed, obviously ;)
9-Heavy knit cardigan: I bought an Arctic worthy cardigan from All Saints last year.
10-Sweaters: Ugh the bane of my existence, trying to find a good quality, non-see through sweaters with a nice neckline. Bought one good one from AllSaints.
11-Oxfords: Yep, bought the Frye Carsons
12-Tops: Bought a few goodies last year but the saga continues…
13: Black skinny jeans: No progress, the agony

Heritage Raincoat review

I made a bee-line for the Heritage raincoat when I went to Anthropologie on Friday. For some reason I got it in my head that the smallest size it came in was a Small. So when I saw the S on the rack I grabbed it instead of continuing to dig for the XS. My store had the coat in yellow as well, which to my eye had  slight greenish tinge. Could have just been the store lighting though.

The Heritage Raincoat felt substantial and well made. The fabric was thick and warm. Not winter warm, but defintely a wet Fall coat. It would probably be too heavy for warm Spring rains.
